The safe.html and verify.html files

The downloaded files (safe.html and verify.html) collect no data whatsoever:

• They run entirely in your browser — no data is sent to any server
• A Content Security Policy blocks all outbound network requests
• No cookies, no localStorage, no analytics, no tracking
• No accounts, no registration, no cloud sync
• Your encrypted data is stored only inside the HTML file itself, on your own device

Your master password and decrypted data exist only in your browser's memory while the page is open. They are never written to disk or transmitted anywhere.

The safehtml.com website

This website uses no cookies, no analytics, and no tracking scripts. We do not collect any personal data through the website.

Our hosting provider may retain standard server access logs (IP addresses, browser user-agent strings, timestamps). We do not access, process, or store these logs ourselves.

Third parties

safe.html is distributed via GitHub Releases (github.com). When you download safe.html, GitHub's own privacy policy applies to that interaction. Once downloaded, the file operates entirely offline with no third-party connections.

Children's privacy

We do not knowingly collect any information from anyone, including children under 16.

Your data rights (GDPR)

Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation and similar laws, you have the right to access, rectify, erase, port, and object to processing of your personal data.

Since we collect no personal data through the product and minimal server logs through the website, there is typically no data to access or delete. If you have a data rights request, contact security@safehtml.com.

Changes to this policy

If we update this policy, we will revise the "Last updated" date above. Because safe.html collects no data, material changes are unlikely.
